Dorcas and Food Bank

On the last Saturday of the month, members of the church invite the community to an organized outreach with their Food Bank and Dorcas programs.  The words of Jesus says:  “For I was hungered and you gave me meat, I was thirsty and you game me drink; I was a stranger and you took me in; naked and you clothed me; I was sick and you visited me; I was in prison and you came to me....in as much as you have done it unto the least of my brothers, you have done it for me”.  (Matthew 25:35-40)

In partnership with the Hawaii Foodbank, we work together to provide food, prayers, and support to our community.  Members of the church and community donate their clothes and household items to the Dorcas, to ensure that no one goes without.

Pathfinders Club

Training and saving young people is one of the most important missions of the Seventh-day Adventist church.  Meetings with our young children, ages 5 through 13, are held once a month with the leaders of the Pathfinders Club.

The Pathfinder club, a church-centered recreational and spiritual program is designed for both boys and girls, grades 5 through 10. The program offers action, adventure, challenge and group activities that produce team spirit and loyalty to the church.

The goals of the Pathfinder Ministries seek to meet the Pathfinder’s present and unfolding needs, to the end that we bring them to self-fulfillment and maturity in Christian faith, characterized by their decision to:

–    Accept Jesus Christ as a personal Savior and Lord

–    Reflect internalized Christian values through mature decision-making and behavior

–    Exhibit the righteousness, true holiness, and fullness of the stature of Christ

–    Demonstrate leadership skills, enabled and empowered to become full partners in active, selfless service supporting the mission of the church

Prayer Meeting

Prayer meetings are held each Tuesday evening, 6:30 pm.  Through studies of various topics (i.e., Acts of the Apostles, Last Day Events, Early Writings of EG White, etc.), highlighted topics, scripture and discussion are held with the members.  Included in these meetings are prayers for those who are on the church’s Prayer List.  For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.  (Matthew 18:20)

Prayer Ministry

The Prayer Ministry team is to actively encourage and promote prayer within the life of the church. By being open and responsive to the working of the Holy Spirit, we pray that God's love, guidance and healing power would be released for the benefit of His people and to His glory.  Weekly prayer is held each Wednesday evening, 8:00 pm) through our phone conference line.

Social Committee

To provide healthy fellowship and interaction with members and friends of the church, social gatherings are scheduled on a yearly calendar by committee members.  Social gatherings include family, elderly, youth, and single members to enjoy active sport events, family outings, family and friends events, and special events such as Christmas.

Vacation Bible School

Vacation Bible School (VBS) is an annual event that introduces and reaches out to children in our community to who them who God is and His love for us. VBS is an annual event which includes Bible lessons, crafts, games, and singing.

VBS helps to fulfill the Great Commission (Matthew 28:19) and to reaffirm

the commitment of God’s people through the centuries: “We will tell the next generation the praiseworthy deeds of the Lord” (Psalm 78:4).

Vegetarian Cooking Class

A monthly cooking session on a healthy, plant slant diet, is held on the first Saturday of the month at 6:30 pm.  Events include special guests to demonstrate cooking and short talks on health.

Wahiawa Hospital Long-Term Care and Halawa Correctional Facility

Members of the church (Praise Team, Elders, and members) perform through music, prayers, and stories of God and his everlasting care over us to the Wahiawa Long-Term Care Facility and the Halawa Correctional Facility.

The Wahiawa Long-Term Care Facility is composed of seniors who require 24/7 supervision, requiring more medical care than what is provided with home.

The Halawa Correctional Facility is a state prison in the City and County of Honolulu, and is in the communities of Aiea and Halawa.

It is an outreach ministry where we serve God through serving people.
